Oba is (an African) king / ruler. That makes Oba-man his supporter. How apt!
Now think of what a supporter of yours might be called if you'd ever have any....
i think mine might just be called oddie... that stupid dog being pranked on by garfield... so i guess there won't be anyone who would want to be that...
